I started learning calligraphy to relax in the evenings after my son was born. I always enjoyed being able to put my entire focus into creating something that was both beautiful and meaningful, but it was initially just a hobby.

That changed when a friend who’d seen my work asked me to do the calligraphy for her wedding. Somewhat nervous, I embarked on my first commission, carefully crafting table signs, the seating plan and menus over the course of several weeks. Finally the big day came and the bride was delighted with my work. I was also incredibly pleased that I could contribute to her wedding in a significant way.

Other commissions soon followed - from weddings to birth announcements, anniversary gifts and more. Kensington Calligraphy grew from there and I am now the preferred calligraphy supplier for Sunbeam Studios and do commissions for Harrods on an ongoing basis.
